Molina Healthcare Selects CisionPoint to Integrate Media Research, Monitoring and Analysis

CHICAGO, IL, June 4, 2009 – Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced that Molina Healthcare, Inc., has chosen the award-winning CisionPoint on-demand public relations software platform to help it manage its campaigns and activities.

Fortune 1000 company with 1.2 million members nationwide, Molina Healthcare (NYSE:MOH) is a multi-state managed care organization that arranges for the delivery of healthcare services to persons eligible for Medicaid, Medicare and other government-sponsored programs. It will use CisionPoint’s world-class Bacon’s Media Database for media research; integrated print, broadcast and online monitoring services; and Basic Analytics to track and measure both campaigns and ongoing coverage. A three-person public relations department is responsible for all of the company’s non-IR media relations activities.

“We pitch news stories every day, along with developing programs, and handling inbound media calls,” said Kelly Huffman, public relations specialist. “Because of the unique, community-oriented nature of our company, our communications efforts are often at the grass-roots level. We also deal extensively with Spanish-language media.”

Prior to 2009, Molina Healthcare relied on the Bacon’s Media Database, the world’s most comprehensive and accurate media research resource, and turned to Cision when it needed ad hoc video clip support. Its legacy print monitoring service could not provide the level of monitoring that Molina Healthcare needed, especially coverage from online outlets, smaller community newspapers and Spanish media. Faced with the need for a next-generation PR technology platform and broader media coverage monitoring, the company selected CisionPoint in early 2009.

“CisionPoint’s integrated services and ease of use will boost productivity,” Ms. Huffman said. “CisionPoint tracks everything – broadcast, print, and online coverage – in one solution. Convenience is key, and it’s great to be able to track coverage while you’re also doing media research,” she said. “CisionPoint’s analytics package will help us create charts and graphs, determine the publicity value of our campaigns, and analyze our results. And we’re very happy with Cision’s customer service. They worked with us to ensure that we monitor the media outlets that matter most.”
