Fall Release of CisionPoint PR Workflow Software Breaks New Ground with Instant Search of Media Archives

Major Enhancements Make CisionPoint the Only PR Workflow Solution With Searchable Archive of Print, Internet, Broadcast and Social Media Coverage

CHICAGO, IL, November 6, 2009 – Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today introduced the Fall 2009 release of its award-winning CisionPoint PR workflow software platform, delivering major enhancements that will dramatically improve the productivity of public relations professionals.

Featuring a new instant search capability that mines a constantly updated archive of the most recent print, Internet, broadcast and blog coverage, the CisionPoint Fall release enables PR professionals to quickly and easily measure and report on news coverage generated by media campaigns. It also delivers industry-leading geographic targeting capabilities, video editing tools, and automatic email alerts on new coverage based on keywords tagged to relevant topics.

“The Fall release of CisionPoint delivers breakthrough capabilities that will continue driving its rapid adoption by current and new Cision customers,” said Joe Bernardo, President and CEO of Cision North America. Cision recently signed its 5,000th CisionPoint customer as the company has rolled out the award-winning integrated workflow software platform to customers worldwide.

The new release of CisionPoint enables users to search a 90-day archive of radio and TV broadcast coverage from all 210 designated marketing areas (DMAs) in the U.S.; more than five thousand top U.S. newspapers, magazines and trade journals; more than 20,000 news websites; and hundreds of thousands of blogs. Whether the keyword is a company, brand, person, or a topic, CisionPoint’s semantic, context-based search algorithms provide an immediate way to improve media targeting by showing the top media outlets and influencers who are reporting or writing about the keyword. Users can identify trends and opportunities by tracking volume of coverage or breaking out coverage by media types, countries or regions.

The Fall Release of CisionPoint Also Includes:

  • Easy-to-use tools to create, modify and save news searches, and to send automated email alerts as new coverage is added.
  • Radius search, which lets users look for new contacts in target geographies by listing all outlets within a user-specified radius of a Zip Code.
  • Enhanced video-editing tools to allow users to edit broadcast segments on the fly to quickly share and disseminate clips.

“With the new release of CisionPoint, Cision is taking another giant step toward Web 3.0 and more intelligent and productive ways of working and communicating,” Bernardo said. “No other provider of PR workflow solutions makes it as easy or instantaneous for communicators to search for coverage and then to analyze, report and act on the results.”
