CisionPoint Selected CODiE Award Finalist in Three Categories in Its First Year on Market

SIIA Judges Nominate CisionPoint as Best On-Demand Platform, Vertical Market Content, Online News Service

CHICAGO, IL, February 26, 2009 – Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to public relations professionals and other communicators, today announced that the CisionPoint on-demand integrated software platform has been selected as a finalist in three categories for a 2009 CODiE Award, sponsored by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).

Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries.

CisionPoint, introduced in late October 2007 and eligible for its first CODiE competition, was chosen as a finalist in the three categories in which it was entered:

  • Best On-Demand Platform
  • Best Vertical Market Business Content
  • Best Online News Service

CisionPoint is one of only six products to be nominated in three or more categories. According to the SIIA, the 2009 CODiE Awards received more than 850 total submissions from over 600 companies. The winners, to be chosen by a vote of SIIA members, will be announced at a May 5 ceremony at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco.

“The CODiE nominations further validate CisionPoint as a superior technology solution and services delivery platform for best-in-class content,” said Joe Bernardo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cision North America. “CisionPoint’s selection as a finalist in the highly competitive Best On-Demand Platform category – honoring products that support the deployment of services that successfully fulfill SaaS applications – is a tribute to our outstanding technology development group.”

“The Best Vertical Market Business Content nomination confirms that the gold standard in media research – Bacon’s Media Database – maintains that status in an online world. And the Best Online News Service nomination demonstrate that the wide range of media monitoring services delivered through CisionPoint are world-class,” Bernardo said. “These nominations, and the breadth of excellence they convey, underscore why CisionPoint has become the fastest-growing platform of its kind, with more than 2,700 customers in its first 16 months on the market.”

According to the SIIA, “Through a unique combination of journalist and expert peer review, the CODiE Awards recognize 71 categories of outstanding products and services. Nearly 190 judges encompassing tech trade journalists, consultants, educators, IT and product specialists, and other knowledgeable, yet neutral, experts have reviewed all of the products entered.”
