If you’ve used our online news release distribution service before, you know that you can embed YouTube videos right into the body of your release. 72 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. To get your marketing videos seen and shared, optimize them. There is no magic formula to make a video “go viral” – but these four optimization tactics will increase your video’s reach:
1) Create shareable content
Videos are shared when they educate or entertain viewers. As your video is shared, your search engine rankings across Google, Bing, Yahoo!, and YouTube increase. Your content will appear higher in search results, reach more people, and drive new visitors to your website.
2) Use keywords
YouTube is the web’s second largest search engine, so tag your videos with keywords to make them more visible in search results.
Include your keywords in the following fields on YouTube: Title Tag, Video Description, Category Listing, Keyword Tags, Subtitles, and Captions.
3) Share socially
Post videos to your website and share them through Facebook and Twitter. Increase exposure by using other video networks as well as YouTube. Vimeo, Yahoo! Video, and Google Video are popular, low-cost video platforms with a significant number of users.
4) Improve
Google Analytics will track how many people come to your company website from YouTube. This is a good overall measure of the effectiveness of your video marketing strategy.
YouTube Analytics shows you how well each of your videos is performing. Use this information to determine what content viewers respond to best. This will guide your strategy for future marketing videos.
Follow these tactics when you upload a marketing video, and your views and shares will climb. For some video inspiration from the Vocus and PRWeb team, click here.
