Last night, we announced the completion of our union with Cision, bringing two of the most successful PR and social software providers together.

Cision and Vocus - PR Software

The #FutureofPR is here as @Cision & @Vocus join forces. [Tweet this]

By joining forces with Cision, we are uniquely positioned to usher in a new era of communication – raising the bar to provide better tools and services for PR professionals, digital marketers and other communicators.

This news, combined with the recent acquisition of Visible Technologies, creates a comprehensive solution for tracking and analyzing earned, owned and paid media that elevates brands and drives business results. Throughout the entire communications spectrum – including discovering, engaging and analyzing – we now offer solutions to serve the PR and Communications professional’s complete workflow.

The combined company’s new global headquarters will be in a 50,000-square-foot space at One Prudential Plaza in Chicago. This moves the current headquarters of both Vocus (Beltsville, Maryland) and Cision (Stockholm, Sweden), making the now over 1,500-person company U.S.-based. The combined organization will maintain offices in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Finland and China.

Given the strength of both companies’ brands and legacies, determining the name for the combined entity was no easy task. Like you, we’ve come to love the Vocus brand and what it stands for in the industry. But, we’ve decided to move forward as Cision. Though the company has taken the Cision name, the iContact, PRWeb, HARO and Visible brands will continue. Vocus customers won’t experience any immediate changes to their existing products, services, support or your contacts.

Cision and Vocus - PR Software

This union blends the strong offerings of each company to create an even stronger brand with more robust set of services. While the integration of the two brands will gradually occur over the next few months, Vocus and Cision customers have already begun experiencing some of the benefits. For example, Vocus users can access premium news content from LexisNexis, building on a relationship Cision established in 2012. Similarly, Cision customers received access to the premium edition of Help a Reporter Out and PRWeb, two of our most popular services.

All of us at the combined company are committed to focusing on the intersection of content marketing, PR and social. With that in mind, Cision will continue to invest in the communication space to serve the PR and communication professional’s complete workflow.
