Forums are the grandfather of so many of the sites we use daily. From discussions with your friends on Facebook to active professional debates on LinkedIn, forums laid the way for the types of discussions going on all over the Web. Yet their use hasn’t diminished, since forums give members an opportunity to post anonymously (or publicly) about difficulties, trends and news in their industry.
Using an anonymous user name can be beneficial when you work in an intense industry such as on Wall Street where disclosing one’s thoughts publicly can violate contracts with clients and employers.
