Frank Denton will step down as editor at large for The Florida Times-Union on Jan. 1, 2017. He previously held roles as editor for the Tampa (FL) Tribune, editor for the Wisconsin journal from 1986 through 2004, and as the assistant managing editor for the Detroit Free Press from 1976 to 1986. Denton held reporter positions for The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Anniston (AL) Star, the Stuart Long News Service, and the Austin (TX) American-Statesman from 1964 to 1975. Mary Kelli Palka will replace Denton with the title of editor effective January 1.  She is currently the managing editor, a role she has held since 2014. Palka has served as the local editor, interim metro editor, investigative editor, and reporter roles since joining The Florida Times-Union in 2003.
