Music and Musicals: The NFL announced Coldplay will headline the 50th Superbowl Halftime Show (WSJ), also the band’s next album will not be available on Spotify (The Verge); the third time was the charm for NBC’s live musical events with positive reviews of last night’s The Wiz (A.V. Club); Andrew Lloyd Weber’s new show, School of Rock, debuts Sunday in New York (Adweek).
Evolving Media: The once struggling San Francisco Chronicle is out of the woods with a growing digital presence (Poynter); tech world site Engadget unveiled a new look and will focus on technology’s effect on society (WSJ); The Washington Post overtook The New York Times in web traffic earlier this year and now we know how (DigiDay); and the Washington press corps now includes more digital and specialty-pub journalists than those from traditional outlets (Pew Research Center).
Anniversary: Outlets across the country remembered Rosa Parks’ taking a stand 60 years ago (CNN).
