We made a change and we wanted to let you know. The change does not affect your Viralheat experience or change any features all, it is just a re-name. In the tool you’ll find that Keyword Searches are now referred to as Topic Profiles. They function exactly the same as before just with a new name.
You might be wondering why we changed the name. Topic Profiles are the way you monitor the social web. Most times people create these profiles based on a topic, hence Topic Profiles. We hope the new name will help to clarify what a Topic Profile is and what its comprised of.
And in case you are new to Viralheat here’s a rundown on Topic Profiles. Topic Profiles are custom sets of keywords, Twitter handles, hashtags, phrases, and more that allow you to monitor the social web for mentions of these words. An example of a topic profile for Apple products would contain keywords associated with their products like iPad, iPod, iPhone, Mac Book, etc. Whenever one of the keywords is mentioned on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Video, or web, Viralheat will surface the mention and provide analytics on the mentions.
