It’s a busy day for us over here in the land of Twitter following today’s announcement of our Social Sentiment Extension for Google Chrome!
The plugin is completely free and does NOT require a Viralheat account to use… All you have to do is download it from the Chrome Web Store and install. Then just pull up Twitter and run a search! You’ll see instant results for sentiment as well as a running, real-time tweet count. Oh, one more thing – if you see results you disagree with, just change it! By hovering over each tweet and clicking on the “sentiment” label, you’ll see a pop-up allowing you to mark the mention as either positive, neutral or negative.
People are already using the plugin to analyze keywords, profiles and trending topics… Here are a few other things to know about the extension:
- It analyzes and presents sentiment alongside updates in Twitter searches as well as during regular Twitter browsing.
- It works on any keyword search or profile on Twitter.
- Sentiment thresholds are completely configurable – users can adjust these settings as they’d like.
- “Share” buttons have been integrated for easy sharing to Twitter and LinkedIn.
- It leverages the Viralheat Sentiment APIs that we launched last month.
Check it out and let us know what you think! What are the most interesting results you’ve seen so far?
