Looking back on 2010, several milestones stand out.  First, there was the rapid customer adoption of the multimedia release builder during the first part of the year, which resulted in a steady increase in the number of customer releases distributed containing images and video.  When we dug into the numbers and saw the impact that multimedia was having on news consumers, we spent some time optimizing the real estate in the news release template to create more space for this type of content.

We also rolled out our News Center, largely built for increased search performance. We’re excited to announce that in the past several weeks we have seen an extremely significant increase in organic search referral traffic.

Finally, we rolled out a variety of distribution partnerships to get your news into more places, including more traditional online outlets like those in the FinancialContent network, as well as non-traditional content distributors, like Zemanta.

The most significant milestone in 2010 however, is yet to come.

Since PRWeb was acquired in 2006, we have maintained and growth the product in its original development environment. We have done so we could continue to innovate the product at a rapid pace. However, this situation has also restricted our ability to bring functionality in from our core Vocus platform. Over the past year, we have undertaken an initiative to transition PRWeb into our native Vocus environment with the intent to foster more intra-platform collaboration and innovation.

We are already in the process of rolling out the new PRWeb through our Vocus SBE product and over the upcoming months we will be rolling out the new product on PRWeb.com. If you’re interested in participating in our beta program and providing us with feedback on the product before it rolls out, please let us know through our support desk.
