New Republic‘s new owner Win McCormack, who purchased the magazine in February, has named Eric Bates editor following Gabriel Snyder‘s departure earlier this month. McCormack will serve as editor in chief himself. Bates most recently oversaw the launch of The Intercept and served as Rolling Stones’ executive editor for over a decade.
