Houston Chronicle has made a few staff updates recently, with the addition of Al Lewis as business editor. Lewis is currently the editor in chief of the South Florida Business Journal, and will begin his duties with the Chronicle on April 1. He replaces Laura Goldberg, who is transitioning to a senior editor role on the same day. Joining the paper on April 11 as energy editor is Rob Gavin, who comes from the Boston Globe. He has been the Globe’s Sunday business editor since December 2010, and was an economics reporter for the paper from 2003 to 2010. Additionally, Ronnie Crocker has been promoted to deputy business editor, having most recently served as a business reporter for the paper. Crocker, who originally joined the paper in 1994, also writes the Beer, TX blog, and has had stints in features and state news. Follow the Houston Chronicle on Twitter for the day’s top news stories.
