The New York Times has announced several new columns to its Sunday Metropolitan section. Metro reporter Andy Newman starts the ‘Pet City’ column, which tells of various pet experiences in the city. Reporter Noah Remnick now pens ‘Fit City’, which focuses on stories of New York’s athletes. Additionally, Joyce Wadler‘s humor column ‘I Was Misinformed’, returns to the paper with tales about survival in New York City.
In other NYT news, Peter Baker has been named Jerusalem bureau chief. Baker will start his new role later this year following a book leave. He replaces Jodi Rudoren, who recently returned to New York as deputy international editor. Baker most recently served as chief White House correspondent for the publication.
