Journalism veteran Martin Gottlieb will retire at the end of next month from The Record and its sister paper, the Herald News. He has served as the top editor for the North Jersey dailies since 2011, after a collective tenure with The New York Times spanning two decades. During his NYT run, Gottlieb worked with investigations, culture and before moving to The Record, with the NYT global editions. He is a past editor in chief of The Village Voice, and was a managing editor for the New York Daily News. His career in journalism actually began at The Record in 1971.
