The Washington Post has made several staff changes on its Finance Desk recently, starting with the appointment of Michelle Williams as business assignment editor. Williams was most recently a business digital editor, and will focus on technology coverage in her new role. Renae Merle will now serve as a reporter covering white collar crime and finance, based in New York. She was previously an assignment editor covering business. Dan Beyers and Sunday Business editor Kelly Johnson will now oversee the daily general business report. Beyers had most recently been Capital Business editor for the paper. Additionally, Matt McFarland has joined the finance desk. He will continue his role as editor of the Innovations blog, now in coordination with The Switch blog.
