Philana Patterson will join USA Today‘s New York bureau in November as deputy editor for the Money section. She has been a mainstay on the Associated Press’ business desk since 2007, starting as business news editor. Patterson later launched the AP’s small business coverage and pioneered the news service’s automated earnings reports. She was promoted to assistant business editor earlier this year.
