Former executive editor Irene Edwards has returned to Sunset Magazine to replace Peggy Northrop as editor in chief. Northrop had been the editor in chief since 2013, but has left to devote more time to her startup digital publishing company, Shebooks. She has had a long career as a magazine editor, having served as editor in chief of Reader’s Digest, More, and Organic Style. She also held editor positions at Redbook, Glamour, and VOGUE since starting her career in journalism in 1994.

Edwards rejoins Sunset Magazine after a two year stint as executive editor of Lonny. Prior to this, she served as special projects editor of Travel + Leisure from November 2008 to March 2013. Her first tenure at Sunset Magazine was from 2004 until 2008, having served as the executive editor. Follow Sunset Magazine on Twitter and Facebook to experience the West.
