Edith Chapin has been named executive editor of NPR, following the departure of Madhulika Sikka in June. Prior to serving as acting executive editor, Chapin was senior foreign editor at the network. She was previously with CNN, where her roles included vice president, local and international bureau chief, managing editor, field producer and assignment manager since joining in 1987.
