The Washington Post has named Sudarsan Raghavan its Cairo bureau chief starting in January. A veteran foreign correspondent for WaPo and other outlets, Raghavan is currently the bureau chief in Kabul following stints as bureau chief in Nairobi and Baghdad. He originally joined the paper in 2005. Also changing roles at the paper is Colby Itkowitz, who is taking over the Inspired Life blog as lead writer and anchor. She most recently wrote for In the Loop blog and joined WaPo just last year. Inspired Life features feel-good human interest stories tied to various global social issues.
