Who hasn’t been sucked in at one point or another by a fake review?  You start reading, eagerly taking in every detail only to realize it sounds too good to be true or the review starts phrasing things in a way no normal person would speak.  Four students from Cornell University are working on coming to the rescue combating  “opinion spam” with software they designed to spot fake online hotel reviews.  They claim that their software is even more effective than human readers, 40% more effective. Let’s hope this truth-seeking mission continues and expands beyond hotel reviews (and let’s hope the spammers don’t read this article)!
