The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has bought out a number of staff reporters and editors after they voluntarily resigned ahead of planned layoffs. The reporters include: night metro reporter Margaret Gillerman, Illinois high school sports reporter Ken Roberts, local news reporter Susan Weich, and business reporter Robert Kelly.

In addition to the reporters, columnists Michael Sorkin and Bill McClellan have left their positions, though McClellan will continue to submit one column per week due to his popularity. Sorkin most recently served as the obituary writer, and started the consumer column at the paper.

Lastly, STLPD’s Jefferson City bureau chief Virginia Young has exited the paper. She oversaw coverage of Missouri state politics and government.
