TIME has recently promoted several staffers. Alex Fitzpatrick has been named deputy technology editor, having previously served as the magazine’s homepage director. Dan Stewart was named continuous news editor for TIME Online. He originally joined the magazine’s website as deputy breaking news editor in January 2014. Jack Dickey has gone from reporter to staff writer, and will now be covering sports and culture. Promoted to news editor for TIME Online is Andrew Katz, who had served as homepage editor since April 2014. Sarah Begley has also been named a Web reporter for TIME Online. She had been serving as digital operations editor since October 2013.
Additionally, TIME has added Kirsten Salyer as deputy ideas editor. She had previously served as engagement editor for Bloomberg View since July 2011. Joining as news editor is Julie Shapiro. She previously spent five years at DNAinfo New York, most recently serving as news editor.
