Three newsroom additions have been announced at the Toronto Star. Julie Carl will join the staff as deputy news editor. She currently serves as associate editor for audience engagement at the Winnipeg Free Press. Christine Loureiro has been named the Star’s entertainment editor, previously editor in chief for the Star’s fashion and beauty site, The Kit. Lastly, Marie Sutherland has been named deputy news editor. She first joined the Star staff in 2007.
