The New York Times has reaffirmed a commitment to coverage of the environment and climate change, introducing a new team of existing reporters working under the newly named deputy science editor, Adam Bryant. Joining Bryant’s team are science writer Henry Fountain, investigative reporter David Kocieniewski, as well as national correspondents John Schwartz and Erica Goode, who will be a science writer at large. They join a group of NYT writers that already includes Justin Gillis and Michael Wines in New York, Coral Davenport in Washington and Felicity Barringer in San Francisco. Environmental coverage was scaled back at the NYT a year ago, a move that shut down the Green blog and saw the environment team reassigned to other departments.
