Lorraine Ali, who has served as music editor for the Los Angeles Times since October 2011, is now a senior writer covering pop culture trends and news for the paper. Prior to rejoining the paper, where she was originally a music columnist, she was with Newsweek as a general editor, music critic and contributing culture and entertainment editor. She previously worked as a senior critic for Rolling Stone and a music columnist for Mademoiselle. She has also been a regular contributor to GQ and has published work in The New York Times, The Village Voice, Entertainment Weekly, Harper’s Bazaar and US magazine.
