Debra Birnbaum has been promoted to executive editor for television at Variety. She joined the magazine as a contributing editor in April 2014, and previously served as acting entertainment editor for MORE since March 2014. She has also held positions as editor in chief of TV Guide Magazine, executive editor at Inside TV, editor in chief at Life & Style Weekly, and features editor at New York Post, among others. Mark David has also joined Variety as the real estate editor. He will pen the Real Estalker, a column serving as the centerpiece for Variety’s newly-launched Dirt section, which debuted on Variety.com on June 18, and in the print magazine beginning June 24.
