Richie Davis covers a variety of local news topics for the Recorder. “It’s a small paper, so we all are generalists,” he says. “I cover largely environmental/energy issues, some business issues, and political/legislative issues.” He is interested in regional and state news, but ONLY as it influences local issues.
Press releases and story ideas “should be about some people in the Franklin County community or should have direct applicability to people living here,” Davis says. Pitch him via e-mail as far in advance as possible. Attachments are accepted, though he prefers to see all information in the body of the e-mail. Davis asks that someone be readily available to answer any questions he may have about a pitch or release.
The Recorder covers local and state news relevant to Greenfield, Mass., and surrounding areas of Franklin County. It is published Monday through Saturday and has a circulation of approximately 13,000.
