Ryan D’Agostino has been named editor in chief of Popular Mechanics, effective May 1. He comes to the magazine from Esquire, where he had been articles editor since October 2006. He replaces outgoing editor in chief James Meigs, who also served as editorial director for the publication, a role that will be filled by David Granger.
