Three staffers have stepped down in CNN‘s investigative unit.
- Lex Haris served as head of the investigative unit since January after a three-year tenure as executive editor at CNNMoney. He was previously managing editor from 2007 to 2014 and joined the website as deputy managing editor in 2001.
- Eric Lichtblau, an editor in the unit, joined CNN in April. He previously served as a national politics reporter out of The New York Times’ Washington bureau, where he previously covered the Department of Justice and money in politics. He won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting in 2006.
- Thomas Frank was an investigative reporter. Frank joined the network from USA Today, where he spent five years as an investigative reporter and seven years covering homeland security and aviation. He previously reported for Newsday, The Denver Post, and The Providence Journal.
