The New York Times recently announced staff shakeups, including some new faces and a promotion, including:

  • Millie Tran will be the newspaper’s first global growth editor. In the new role, Tran will work to build growth plans for the Times’ priority markets and audiences.
  • Meredith Kopit Levien recently was promoted to the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer. In the new role, Kopit Levien will oversee advertising, product and design, audience, branding, revenue and NYT Beta.
  • Eileen Sullivan will join the Times’ Washington, D.C., bureau to cover early-morning breaking news. She’s no stranger to the nation’s capital, as she most recently spent nearly 10 years covering intelligence, terrorism, criminal justice, surveillance policy and homeland security for the Associated Press bureau there.
