Baaron Pittenger covers hard news for a local audience. He says he is interested in “things that are happening in our viewing area, not localizing national news.” Press releases should include “just the facts,” he adds. “I don’t want them to tell me the story.”

Pitch him by e-mail; he accepts high-resolution images and attachments. Include contact information for a local resident affected or involved in the subject or event, as well as accurate information to reach the PR person. One follow-up e-mail is welcome, but repeated e-mails are not appreciated. Pittenger prefers to receive press releases at least two days in advance.

KRDO-TV is an ABC affiliate broadcasting to the southern part of Colorado, including the towns of Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
