Alexis Gelber has been named editor in chief for Straus News Manhattan‘s weekly papers. She replaces Kyle Pope, who is now editor and publisher of Columbia Journalism Review. Gelber was a longtime staple at Newsweek, where she served as managing editor for Newsweek International. She will continue as an adjunct journalism professor at NYU.
