  • Rick Carpiniello, a sports beat writer who covered the New York Rangers and Yankees and had spent nearly 40 years with the company;
  • Chad Jennings, another Rangers and Yankees sports beat writer, who joined the paper in 2009;
  • Phil Reisman, a news columnist who had been with the Journal News for nearly 40 years.
