Bloomberg News in Detroit recently welcomed a new bureau chief and a new team leader to oversee auto coverage. David Welch has been named Detroit bureau chief, stepping up from his previous position deputy team leader for auto content, which he had held since January 2015. Before that, he was a reporter covering consumer issues, deals and autos. Craig Trudell is the bureau’s new U.S. auto team leader. He is currently the editor of Asia auto coverage for Bloomberg News in Tokyo and will soon return to Detroit. Trudell joined Bloomberg in January 2010 and reported on Chrysler, Ford and GM from Detroit for three and a half years. Follow Bloomberg News on Twitter.
