Newspaper veteran Sara Glines was recently named president and publisher of The News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina, the first woman to hold the position. She most recently was president of Gannett’s Atlantic Group, overseeing eight daily newspapers in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Glines replaces Orage Quarles, who retired earlier this year.
