The Galveston County Daily News has appointed Laura Elder managing editor. She was previously the business editor, and will continue to oversee that coverage. She will also continue editing Coast Monthly, the paper’s lifestyle magazine. Before joining the Galveston Daily News as a business reporter in 2000, Elder worked at the Houston Business Journal.
