Scott Nelson will step down as managing producer on The Oregonian‘s business desk, effective Aug. 19.

He will join Linfield College as director of communications at the end of the month. Nelson oversaw the business section since 2011, having joined the paper in 2003 as deputy business editor. During his tenure he also held stints as breaking news editor, online enterprise editor and Portland editor. Follow The Oregonian on Twitter.
