Emily Walsh has been named publisher at Observer Media Group in addition to her role of chief digital officer. She will oversee East County Observer, Longboat Observer, Sarasota Observer, Siesta Key Observer, YourObserver.com, Season magazine and LWR Life magazine. Walsh’s advancement is part of a standing succession plan for the family-owned publisher; she replaces her mother, Lisa Walsh, in the role. The younger Walsh has worked for Observer Media Group for 15 years, serving as photographer, section editor and advertising sales executive before overseeing the company’s digital efforts.
