The Weekly Standard has announced the addition of two top editors and a writer:
- Robert Messenger re-joins the outlet as executive editor. He was previously the books editor for The Wall Street Journal. Messenger is a former senior editor of The Weekly Standard and the deputy managing editor of the Atlantic Monthly. He is also the creator of The New York Sun newspaper, which he founded in 2002.
- Rachel Larimore is the new managing editor of The Weekly Standard Online. She comes from Slate, where she had served as managing editor since 2011.
- Tony Mecia has joined The Weekly Standard as senior writer. He is a former deputy business editor of The Charlotte Observer and has also written for MoneyWise.
