After 17 years, James Surowiecki and The New Yorker have parted ways. Surowiecki joined the magazine in 2000 and wrote The Financial Page column while also contributing to the magazine’s Currency blog. Prior to that position, he held roles at Slate, Fortune and Talk. He leaves to pursue other projects, including writing a book. Follow the New Yorker on Twitter
