The New York Times is working on its global expansion by adding two people to help with the new bureau in Sydney, Australia. Damien Cave and Jacqueline Williams will lead the Australian effort. Williams is an Australian native who previously worked for Fairfax Media in Australia. She has been working with The New York Times investigative unit since July 2015. Cave will move to Sydney, Australia in March 2017 to serve as chief for the new bureau. He is a digital deputy on the national desk and has been with The New York Times since 2004.
