The New York Times has added two editors to their international desk. Kim Barker, whose 2011 book The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan inspired the film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, will soon travel to Berlin to serve as an enterprise-investigative reporter. She previously worked as a metro investigative reporter for the NYT. Joining the newspaper is Patrick Kingsley, who is the acting bureau chief in Istanbul, Turkey. This coming summer, he will relocate to the London bureau to serve as an enterprise-investigative reporter. Prior to joining the paper, he spent 7 years with The Guardian as a features writer, Cairo bureau chief, and the paper’s first migration correspondent. Follow The New York Times on Twitter.
