Editor in chief Joyce Chang left SELF and Carolyn Kylstra has been promoted to replace her. Chang assumed the role in April 2014 after serving as executive editor of Cosmopolitan, and before that, holding the same position at Marie Claire. Kylstra joined SELF in September 2015 as executive digital director. Prior to that, she was health editor for BuzzFeed and spent two years as the site director for Women’s Health.
As the new editor in chief, Kylstra will help SELF transition from a print magazine to a digital and social brand; the February 2017 issue will be its last regular printed copy. However, SELF will publish special print editions throughout the year and the Chinese edition will continue to be printed monthly. Follow SELF on Twitter.
