The Wall Street Journal has announced the launch of a refreshed print edition arriving on newsstands November 14. The daily has combined the Business & Finance section, comprising the current Business & Tech and Money & Investing sections. Combined, the new section will contain in-depth corporate and markets coverage, as well as clearly defined columns for companies, equities, bonds, commodities, currencies and financial institutions. In addition, WSJ’s lifestyle, arts, culture, entertainment and sports coverage — currently living under the Personal Journal and Arena — will be combined in a section named Life & Arts. Lastly, the Greater New York coverage will be reduced in size and will move into the main section of the paper in the New York region.
WSJ also announced that as a result of section consolidation many reporters have accepted buyouts, including:
- Pervaiz Shallwani, criminal justice reporter
- Mara Gay, New York City Hall reporter
- Rebecca D. O’Brien, courts reporter
- Mike Vilensky, Greater New York area reporter
- Erica Orden, political reporter
- Josh Dawsey, New York and New Jersey regional reporter
