After nearly 20 years with Fortune, Peter Elkind is set to depart the magazine on Nov. 4. Elkind, who also co-wrote the book “The Smartest Guys in the Room,” about Enron, has been editor at large with the financial publication since 1997. While with the magazine, he uncovered and chronicled high stakes sagas in the business world, often writing long feature articles. The veteran journalist has held a long and successful career, also holding positions at The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Texas Monthly and the Dallas Observer.
