Beth Weitzman is saying goodbye to all Modern Luxury publications, where she served as editorial director. Weitzman has spent the last 16 years in journalism, serving as editor in chief at Jezebel before becoming editorial director with Modern Luxury. She leaves to launch a digital project aimed at luxury travelers. With her departure Stephanie Davis Smith has been named editorial director of all Modern Luxury publications, where she will lead the staff and develop the direction for 67 magazines over 19 cities.  Previously, Davis Smith has held  roles at SELF, GQ, Skirt.com, The Atlantan, Rejuvenate, Collaborate, and most recently served as editor in chief at Connect. After 16 1/2 years, the last six as VP, Editorial Director for Modern Luxury, I am excited to announce that I am embarking on my next chapter and heading off to new adventures. I am so thankful for what has been an exhilarating journey for almost 2 decades, including producing 60+ titles with more than 200 issues a year across Modern Luxury’s 17 cities, while also serving as national travel and beauty editor, and Angeleno magazine editor-in-chief. I am so proud of the incredibly talented team and well-respected brand I helped build. What started out as a casual chit chat with my dear friend Stacy Small (@elitetravelgal) of the top tier luxury travel firm Elite Travel International about our mutual admiration for travel and our experiences around the world, turned into a serious conversation about an area brimming with opportunity in the digital publishing space. I believe in the power of change, the pursuit of one’s passion and living your dream. Almost 17 years ago I took a huge leap from law to traditional publishing. I’ve always possessed the entrepreneurial spirit, and today I feel incredibly fortunate to have met Stacy, someone who’s core values are so in sync with mine, to partner on what is sure to be my most exciting journey yet.
