Several veteran staffers have exited the Lawrence Journal-World following the sale of the paper to Ogden Newspapers. Several staffers were not rehired by new ownership. Departures include editorial page editor Ann Gardner, who joined the staff in 1977; chief photographer Mike Yoder, who started in 1984; sports reporter Gary Bedore, who joined the paper in 1988; and award-winning investigative reporter Karen Dillon, who started in 2014. General manager Scott Stanford will step into the publisher role at the LJ World, a role previously held by Dolph C.
