Shawna Thomas is leaving NBC to join Vice News as its Washington bureau chief.

Thomas has been with NBC for a decade, and has been serving as senior producer and senior editor for Meet the Press. Previous roles with NBC include White House producer, Capitol Hill producer, associate producer and assignment editor for the political desk. Thomas joined NBC News in August 2006 as a news associate. At Vice, Thomas will oversee all Vice News content, for digital and for the HBO program. Follow Vice News on Twitter.
