Andy Shain is now the editor at the Free Times. He comes to the Columbia, South Carolina alt-weekly from local daily newspaper The State, where he most recently covered politics, government and higher education. Shain joined The State in 2007 after eleven years with The Charlotte Observer and eight years with The Sun News. His move coincides with the purchase of the Free Times by Evening Post Publishing, which owns and operates The Post and Courier daily paper in Columbia.
